(uh-huh) I am a reliably self-taught artist and I have such an admiration for the handmade, the original and all that is decorative found in the world of Arts and Crafts. For well over 20 years, (dear God) I have been interested in creating decorative pieces both large and small for the home. It is exciting to be inspired and to express personal themes, seasonal color, absent-minded texture and techniques to my works on wood, paper, canvas and other thirsty surfaces! When I find myself in the right moment, and time sees me through her doorway, I enjoy painting, collage, and writing spontaneous prose as a form of feeding my passion and soothing my sanity. I have a more or less attentive blog that I use to sort things out. For a short time, I attended and majored in art at Mansfield University in PA. Unfortunately, this path of "higher education" was never fully pursued, though I did manage to absorb some valuable insight, teaching and encouragment from my art instructors whose faces and voice still speak to me. Now I thrive lovingly here in Cornwall, NY raising my family, lean with longing on the memories of my childhood and the comforts from family traditions while smiling from the warmth and company of friends.
